I hate using this on my war, the low(ish) recharge makes me tempted so spam it and rip up my energy... but then again I suck xD Firoas. 19:34, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's all about how you time it. Most commonly, you see it used as a guaranteed KD immediately before an adrenaline spike. But there are other cases where it proves useful. For instance, if an enemy monk is spamming something like Guardian, if you can read it well, you can time your Shock to prevent or even interrupt the next cast. Or if you're about to be spiked down, knocking any melees back might buy you the time you need to kite and recover. When you're about to use it, ask yourself, "does he need to be on the ground, right now?" If you answered yes, do it, and follow up on it while you can (you should always run this with a Stonefist Insignia, to make the most of the window you've given yourself and your team). If not, wait for an opportunity, and use it when it hurts the most. --SoraMitsukai 20:07, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

- Warrior use adrenaline not energy.Well mostly.Farlong 12:31, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- But it's such a costly interrupt skill... ~ ZamaneeJinn 19:25, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- It has multiple purposes other than interrupt as explained above, my favourite shocking the mesmer casting empathy or Vor on me and then applying a DW so that I can interrupt the next spell they think about.Farlong 01:02, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Icon Shape[edit]
Does anyone else think the icon art looks like a human skull viewed from the side? [1]--SlitherSly 23:47, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
- Imo it looks like an outline of a pokemon. --64.251.53.130 15:24, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
just a ponder...[edit]
what would happen if two characters targetted each other with this spell. if nothing was affecting their cast times, how would the game decide who got knocked down (I'm assuming they can't BOTH be knocked down... can they???) 90.198.74.1 19:31, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- I just tried it a few times. We weren't both knocked down, but the game's choice of whom to knock down appeared to be random. --Irgendwer 02:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Do heroes use this at all?[edit]
I've been trying to get an Assassin hero to use this in a generic knockdown build but it doesn't seem to want to use it at all. I've tried everything from increasing the hero's energy to giving it zealous daggers to giving it energy gain skills (Falling Lotus Strike etc.) to increasing its Air Magic ranks. Is there a secret for how to make them use this or does the AI just hate melee heroes using this? Even with every other skill on the bar disabled the hero chose to auto attack instead. 24.13.211.110 12:34, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
