Lightning Damage[edit]
Hmm does this make your attack into lightning, thus making Conjure Lightning work with out the shocking handle? Halogod35 19:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I would say yes because it says +x amount lightning damage, but I suppose it is possible that your attack would do like 15 regular pierce damage + x lightning damage, not sure if that would trigger conjure lightning. Maybe someone will test and post the results. Elder Angelus 20:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'll test it when I get home :D Halogod35 12:28, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, confirmed. Spear of lightning changes your damage into lightning. Making Conjure lightning work. Halogod35 01:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- It still counts as a projectile attack and you will still suffer from blind, but it does go through block. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.139.24.194 (talk).
Armor penetration[edit]
Target AL | Calculated weapon critical damage with AP | Total critical damage | Difference |
---|---|---|---|
60 | 68.3 | 90 | 21.7 |
80 | 52.7 | 74 | 21.3 |
100 | 40.6 | 62 | 21.4 |
I did some testing on Isle of the Nameless with 16 Spear Mastery, a max customized spear with no damage bonus and "Go for the Eyes!". The bonus damage is definitely armor ignoring. -- Gordon Ecker 03:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Notes[edit]
Rather than starting a revert war, I'd like to point out why the note is just a rephrased description.
- Description : Spear Attack. If this attack hits, it deals +8...18...20 lightning damage. This attack has 25% armor penetration.
- Note : This attack skill causes the attack to deal lightning damage, have 25% armor penetration and deal +8...18...20 damage.
Can you please tell me what the note says that you wouldn't otherwise be able to tell from the skill's description?
As far as I know there is no skill that deals damage of multiple types in the same packet. --Boogy (Talk/Contributions) 11:39, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- A literal reading of the description would indicate that only the bonus damage is lightning, and the description is not clear about whether the damage being dealt in a single packet. -- Gordon Ecker 22:28, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- All attacks the deal "+x damage" or "x more damage" deal the damage in a single packet. There is no exception to this rule. So the bonus damage cannot be lightning damage while the attack damage is not.--Boogy (Talk/Contributions) 11:29, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- But the only other skill which deals "+X type damage", Kindle Arrows, also explicitly states that it also converts the arrows' base damage to fire damage in both its' concise and verbose descriptions. -- Gordon Ecker 03:51, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Okay then, how about leaving only the important thing in the notes? (This attack skill causes the attack to deal lightning damage
, have 25% armor penetration and deal +8...18...20 damage.). --Boogy (Talk/Contributions) 17:07, 28 August 2008 (UTC)- Agreed on this, I just read the note and thought "Like, duh? note = description". Just leave the "this attack deals lightning damage" part 88.169.112.155 20:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
