Long Recharge[edit]
30 seconds recharge for a spell that lasts 5 seconds, takes 2 seconds to cast, and only hits enemies who are standing right next to you seems pretty harsh. - Elder Angelus 14:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeh, Pretty crappy. Izzy doesn't realize his smiting spells are the sucks when competing anywhere. this would be great if AI didn't make them run from AoE damage. SKILL SUGGESTION. This skill deals 5...21...25 Holy damage per second for 5 seconds to nearby foes. 5 En. 2 Cast 15 Rec. Fair?

20s or 15s recharge instead of 30s would make more sense in my opinion. And lowering the tick count to 3 (every 1s) with more damage/tick would be great in PvE (no more wasted ticks due to mobs scattering from AOE.) --Teisei 08:12, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Skill change[edit]
This skill or its counterpart should have it's function changed to make smiting monks in both PvP and PvE more effective/popular. An example would be to make it a ranged aoe targeting spell, so that monks now could have an aoe spell. Every other caster class has one, why not monks? Ex-nay Balthizar's Aura, it's huge energy cost and requirement of casting it on an ally is a different function all together. the change described would be just like an elementalist with breath of fire.--71.67.243.230 02:01, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

The reason they dont like powerful or even useful smite skills is because monks have powerful healing. If it was ranged peeps would run things like Divine/Smite monks (which has happened before) using builds with "the new" Symbol of wrath and Blessed light for healing/condition/hex. Drop both Wrath copies on target foes and laugh as you are able to do 3 things in one with Blessed light. My take on this skill,
- 10e 2cast 20recharge
- 5-15-25dmg every second for 5seconds
- The re-created non-elite for the new RoJ. BUT THIS ONE DOES CAUSE SCATTER!--Justice 18:58, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Double Damage[edit]

Add knockdown (see the icon)[edit]
If you watch closely the icon of this skill, you can see people being blown away by the blast of SoW beam. I suggest this skill does AOE knockdown either when initially cast (unconditional), or every second (on moving targets). This would justify the 30 second recharge and 2 second cast, as foes wouldn't be able to run away from this spell so easily. This change would make this skill a bit more useful, and the effect would be closer to that in the icon. Also, I'd like to see a PvE/PvP split on this spell since the usage is very different in PvE and PvP. --Teisei 「ページ」 「会話」 06:55, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Acquisition[edit]
I cannot purchase it in Lion's Arch, but I can in Ascalon City. I can port back and forth between Lion's Arch and Ascalon City to verify this. I already had Kirin's Wrath if that matters.
