The damage is physical, it triggers Mark of Pain. remember the grawl bombing? 88.169.112.155 15:36, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

I have a feeling that if more research is done, it will turn out to be piercing damage, since that just seems like common sense? -elviondale (tahlk) 19:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Try it with Greater Conflagration. Backsword 17:01, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Was reading something off of PvXwiki and found an old gamespot link that said this skill used to be called Bow Parry. worthy of trivia? http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/guildwars/preview_6111324.html Dagger Wagger 02:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Bow Parry already redirects here, so its nothing new really ~ SCobraUser-SuperCobra-Sig.png 14:35, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

The damage from this skill actually does trigger Pain Inverter - wait for a Kournan Bowman to cast Whirling Defense, with lots of minions around him, cast Pain Inverter and watch the ranger just suddenly suffer a lot of yellow numbers. So either the bug note is false or just old information? kipinae 07:41, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Does it do Damage even if something else, say metal block or shroud of defense, blocks an attack? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.57.117.214 (talk).
Needs a damage buff, the only reason I bring it is for the 75% block chance. If I dont need that I don't take the skill. Would be more usefull with a damage buff and then you could use it in caster heavy areas more effectively.
[[1]] look at 5.50, and say that again =) 82.95.65.117 21:07, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Is this being nerfed?[edit]

I've heard rumors that this is getting nerfed so that the damage only triggers on piercing damage. Is this true? If so, could you please provide a source? Random Weird Guy 21:48, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
