About the Bot[edit]Introduction[edit]This bot is inactive, and will not run unless a sudden wiki-wide consensus is reached allowing it. If this ever happens, feel free to let me know ;) ArchiveBot is a bot designed for the automatic archiving of talk pages. Archiving is the process of moving old sections of a talk page to a separate page, so that the current discussion is not interfered with. On busy talk pages this can become a chore; ArchiveBot helps with this problem. Using the Bot[edit]ArchiveBot can be told to archive any user, or article talk page. To tell ArchiveBot to archive a page, simply add {{User:ArchiveBot/Archive}} to the top of the page in question. ArchiveBot will then proceed to archive all sections of the talk page that have not had an edit made to them for 3 days to the month of the last edit. For example, if the last edit was made on 13th September 2007, and it is now the 18th September 2007, ArchiveBot will move that section to User_talk:YourUserName/September 2007. Help, Problems & Suggestions[edit]If you have any problems using the bot, please leave a message on its talk page. |
User Shutdown[edit]If you are not an administrator, you can shut the bot down in an emergency by blanking this page. Detailed Control[edit]If the default settings do not suit the page you want archiving, you can override them by placing archive-tags on your page. The following tags are available (these should be copied and pasted to the relevant place, then the value modified).
