- Note: Crysania is now semi-retired. Having accomplished 30/30 and 50/50 a while ago, Crysania mainly played to assist others. However, the granting of more health to all foes in Hard Mode, as well as the impact of many of the updates since Jan 2012, has sapped most of the fun out of playing. The exception is Winds of Change. That was enjoyable.*
Before: Crysania Anchorwind is a Guild Wars Player. She has been the guild leader of Call of the Hoolequin [Quin] since the spring of 2006 when it formed originally and she has quietly earned 30 Titles [Yay! God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals!], and 18,000,000 XP playing the calm European Districts with small numbers of Guild Mates, Heroes [and Henchmen]. She is happy to have 50 Hall of Monument Points too! She intends to display her Flameseeker in Guild Wars 2, to honor her roots in GW1, when she isn't displaying GWAMM. She is content to enjoy non-farming PvE and will almost certainly aim for the vacant districts in GW2 as well, doubly so since less will be instanced. She bears no ill will towards the PvP or PvE communities, but sighs sadly at some of the representation in the Wiki Talk Pages. She rarely interacts with others outside her Guild, and even then it is mostly trade related. She does however, read the chat log in the busier cities and will smile quietly at some of the enjoyable people, primarily in the European districts where she has experienced larger numbers of mature players.
She is a tactician at heart and lovingly spends more time than necessary tinkering with hero skill sets, and multi-set teams. She's not interested in the 'build of the week,' she avoids people who demand certain builds or face rejection, and she hopes that certain people will learn that there is more than one way to do virtually everything. She tends to build teams custom for each mission, rarely ever clearing something the same way twice [in a row, anyway]. She does not favor efficiency over enjoyment, and places little value in status symbols [obsidian armor dyed black, as an example]. She cares not for how many [____] you are stockpiling, as long as you are enjoying what you are doing.
She enjoys the game much more with the removal of the hero cap, but would have preferred for someone to not leak it months before it happened. She loves the environments, music, even most of the silly references seen throughout the game. She reads every word of quest descriptions, dialogue, et al. She has been predictably active for five years+ and still uses the same Kepkhet's Refuge, and wears the same prestige tattoos, she got all those years ago. She even remembers when gold was the standard currency, as opposed to ecto or armbrace and such. She participates in festivals, but at her keyboard with friends and new friends.
Crysania is a Monk/Ritualist because MoRt spells death :) . She is interested in non-charr races and numerous professions in GW2. The Anchorwind Clan, however, is most likely to live on as an Engineer, although Mesmer is also tempting. I do have a suggestion: Let the Asura paint their Golems! If I could ride around in something that resembled RX-78-2 [Gundam], I would be very happy. For that matter, let us dye our turrets as well :). The Anchorwind Clan also has a successful Assassin and Mesmer, but uses them less due to the HM changes in early 2012. Crysania is, by far, the dedicated character.
She has written, and continues to write, a sizable volume of GW-Based reference humor at http://hoolequin.com . She also does low-level graphic work that is GW/Guild Based and can be found at the previous link as well. She has also wrtten a sizable "Quin Officers' Guide" and is well into her next GW-Based Fan Book [Non-Commercial, of course], this time a Guild History book with significantly less reference/mechanics compilations. In fact, she's entirely too dedicated.
At first, she thought that Kieran can't be a paragon - He wears pants. Upon further inspection, so do General Morgahn and Hayda. That means that Mad King Thorn's Paragon joke isn't as funny anymore.
She first came here to help with the Health Degeneration page, a long time ago it seems and has actively been discouraged from participating further due to discussion board antics and wiki-centric politics. She offers thanks to people who choose to put up with it, though.
As you may have noticed: Crysania is not known for slang, either.
Crysania does question the wisdom of being able to buy a PvP title [Zaishen Keys]. Was this designed so PvE players could gain more points in the HoM, without needing to do both PvP and PvE? Quite a bit of the HoM points can be bought, as is.
The Call of the Hoolequin [Quin] isn't actively recruiting, but has plenty of room for people who enjoy a quieter guild hall inhabited by people who are all well past their teenage years and prefer to play PvE more independently, or in small groups. We help each other routinely, but mainly enjoy one another's company. We may go way back, but we are welcome for new people to share in the never ending cycle of hilarity that is The Quin. Quin or Quit!
