This page is just to keep track of what STATS of items have been dropped in Istan. It's a personal record from every holiday (since I prefer to farm things I KO for the holiday items).

why nonmax[edit]

Everyone knows the MAX damage range , but what about the MIN damage range? Aren't you curious inside?

Why Istan[edit]

Istan has some of the most unique drops, since it is the only place with low level inscribable items (Tyria and Cantha do not have nonmax inscribables since all inscribables are from chests). For example the protective staff with the Yakslapper skin, elementalist earth prisms, fire prisms (from the Stormseed plants), and Collosal Scimitars (from Corsairs) are some of the skins that can drop.

Also I have been looking for an inscribable focus for a -2 negative energy set (the best I found was a no req inscribable +4energy fire prism) and shield that could supplement a wintergreen or peppermint shield. Hassin's Shell is okay, but it only has +20HP and not +30HP so you have a 10HP dip when weapon swapping from a +30HP set.

Also a +energy no-req focus can help with non-caster characters that opt not to use a +10 energy staff as a swap (specifically paragons and warriors since daggers/scythes/bows are 2 handed).

I use wintergreen bows on my characters to pull ever since the change that made them longbows. The oddity is that the damage on them is higher than any I've found on Istan. (15-15 is higher than the max of 9-12 I've seen with no req).

In theory there could be a lower no req. stat because in Cantha there are Level 0 Mantid Monitor Hatchling and in Presearing there are Level 0 Diseased Devourers, Level 0 River Skale Tads, Level 0 Plague Worms, and Level 0 Aloe Seed and Level 0 Aloe Husks (my favorite to bash with hammers back in beta). Just like how inscribables can only come in R8 max but R7 is possible with noninscribables. Given the low likelihood of you have max mods on a no req item...it's not happening so that's why Istan is the place to go.

In Nightfall there's level 0 Corsairs in Chahbek Village but you have to take Koss with you (therefore lowering drops). In Eye of the North the lowest level I think is 14 (spiders in Arachni's Haunt) or 8 (some Charr in Charr Invaders).

Focii[edit]

  • +3 energy, same stats as presearing focus

  • +5 energy <-- equal to the gingerbread focus /runic shield from Ascalon
  • +6 energy
  • +6 energy (purple)
  • +6 energy (req1)
  • +7 energy (req2)
  • +7 energy (req4)
  • +8 energy (req4) - purple
  • +6 (req5) <-- the higher end of req on Istan
  • +9 energy (req5) - gold

still looking for a +1 energy or +2 energy, for negative energy swap (for use with "Ignorance is Bliss")

Shields[edit]

  • +4 Armor
  • +5 Armor
  • +6 Armor
  • +7 Armor
  • +8 Armor
  • +9 Armor (req2)
  • +10 Armor (purple req3)
  • +10 Armor (purple req5)
  • +11 Armor (req 4)

it is therefore possible to get the Wintergreen shield stats

starter shield in presearing is 3 armor.

  • 9-14 damage, +7 energy, HSR13 (req3)
  • 9-14 damage, +7 energy, HSR14 (req4)

clearly there is no point in getting a staff from Istan since only the damage is affected by req. anyway and the wintergreen staff is even worse since it is only 10-10 damage with no energy bonus

Presearing collectors offer Damage 3-5 , Energy +3 staves.
