    Jacob Hood was born in Tyria. He grew up with the guidance and influence of Ivor Trueshot, the marksmanship expert of the Kingdom of Ascalon, and Master Ranger Nente who has taught Jacob how to charm and comfort animals. He spends many hours every day at the Statue of Melandru, the Matron Goddess of Rangers, and brings her offerings as he seeks the blessings of the Goddess. As he lays under the shading branches and drinks the cool water, he dreams of one day being a great ranger, defending his beloved kingdom. Little does he know of what is to come...
