Ouatis is a most clever abbrevation meaning "Once upon a time in Sweden". That's right, Ouatis is a Swede.

Ex-Guild Wars player looking forward to Guild Wars 2. It'll be the first time he's there from the very beginning.

The best part about an MMO? Other players. He hopes GW2 will be complex and difficult enough to ward off people with little to no brains.

Favourite Race? Human. (Yeah, I know.)

Favourite class types? Following these questions will answer that:

  • Type of damage - Physical
  • Ranged or Melee - Melee
  • Armour Type - Heavy
  • Specialization - Damage Dealing
  • Other Positives - Being able to assist fellow players

Result? Generally, a Warrior-type with some form of support abilities, such as healing or at least stunning. Paladin, or Guardian, comes to mind.

Ouatis started his MMO-career with Lineage 2. He was caught by the exp and money grinding for levels and new armor sets. (I can't help it, grinding is fun!)

After that, he found Final Fantasy XI. His love for grinding made that game perfect for him. 5 classes at max level (75), and a few more not far behind, he eventually quit due to many bad experiences with other players over the 4 years playing FFXI. Though the desire to play FFXI had been killed, the need for an MMO had not.

Naturally, the next project was World of Warcraft. Most enjoyable for a couple of years. Then, as all sensible gamers, he quit that pointless farse as well. But the need for an MMO was there, still.

Guild Wars managed to sate that need for a while, but it was so late into the game that other players didn't care for him. He played solo to max level, acquired some elite skills by himself, and did a dungeon or two with a group (who were kind enough to ease him into the new mechanics for tanking), and attended the Christmas holiday of 2010. Then his MMO career ended, for now.

Oh, and he played EVE Online on and off for some time, but the risks of losing ships outfitted with hundreds of millions was just too unbearable. The monthly cost also felt a bit too steep, as often times you would just log in to set your skill training for the week.

Now Ouatis is a loner, drifting through space and time, awaiting his cue to rise once again.. this time to become a true legend, who has been around since the dawn of the world.
