User:Previously Unsigned/Argos Soft GwDressUP - Notes

I recently ran this program on a mostly unused backup account somebody kindly gave me access to (not sure if you want your name listed or not, but you rock!) Anyways, after I ran it, I took some notes and will post them here, since not many trust the program to run it, so this for anybody having questions.

The program is called "GwDressUP" and it's available from Argos Soft. The version I used has a sha256 of "039d42bc900246fcf892612469feb7368102478e4bb6747d21415e017d380e87", more information can be found at VirusTotal. Anyways, here are the notes:

  • Armor change only applies to the user controlled, moveable character
    • It does NOT affect any other representation, such as in Inventory or Stylist (this blows! If it affected stylist, perfection)
  • Occasionally glitches so that 2 headpieces are applied at once, but only with Eye of the North objects. Mask of the Mo Zing Mask and Blindfold both got "stuck" on my character, and I've heard it happen with spectacles too.
  • You need to have a character loaded for it to work (does not work at character selection screen)
  • Possible to create impossible dye combinations, such as stacking two of the same color or no dye at all (last used is applied then)
  • The new pink dye [vial] IS included as a dye option, as it reads from the DAT I believe
  • The exe for dress up did NOT invoke any outbound connection as far as I can tell. I didn't get one popup in Outpost Firewall and it wasn't even in the list of programs (it would have added itself if it had initiated anything).
  • I've also searched around the internet for bad tales of it acting suspicious and getting people banned. While I still am not using it on my main, I could not find even a SINGLE report of somebody being banned after using it. In fact I found just the opposite - people in game who have run it with no items missing or ban, and several people out of the game who claim to have run it with the same results.
