What are the benefits, dangers and/or flaws etc... of several account protection methods.

SecurID

• Pros:
  • Additional layer of account protection.

• Cons:
  • If a hacker gets into an account that does not have an authenticator attached to it then he can attach one and make it inaccesible to the account holder (this has happened to several WoW players).

eID

• Pros:
  • Additional layer of account protection.

Static IP/MAC/HW checking

• Cons:
  • IP Spoofing, IP smart spoofing.
  • IP based access control is not reliable.
  • MAC spoofing.

"NO DELETE" option on characters and/or items

• Pros:
  • Undeletable and/or untransferable.

• Cons:
  • Undeletable and/or untransferable.
