Stances[edit]

On Activation:[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • "Stances are skills with no activation time."
  • "Stances can be activated at any time."

Proposed:[edit]

Raine's Proposal:[edit]

  • "Stances are skills that have an activation time outside of the queue for activating other skills."'
    • You can still activate a stance halfway through another skill, it just won't be done instantly. This means that users will have to use stances in a predictive manner for best effectiveness, as opposed to the reactive manner that currently characterizes their usage. For example, monks using dstance halfway through a hammer chain shouldn't get a "get out of pwnage free" card - if it had, say, a one-second activation, it would rely a bit more heavily on said monk's ability to predict the incoming attacks. • "Stances cannot be activated while knocked down.
    • Firstly, it just makes sense ("Stance?"'). Secondly, it deals with the same thing as the above section: it would make stances less of an "ups I'm knocked down but lol 75% block" and more of a "let me use this 75% block now so I don't get knocked down" deal. On Ending:[edit]

Current:[edit]

  • "Stances end if another stance is activated."
  • "'Wild' skills end stances."

Proposed:[edit]

  • "Stances end if the user is knocked down."
    • The "Wild" skills were few and far-between, and all of them had pretty major drawbacks. By adding a more universal counter, stances would be a lot less "there's nothing you can do about it now". And, again, it just makes sense. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 17:48, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
