This is the story of the first and only Canthan Dervish, Kas the Skilled

Chapter 1: A Holy Start[edit]

It was mid-day, and young Kas was in a rush. He was late for his healing lesson! As Kas grabbed his tomes and his training scepter, he said to himself, "I hope Brother Selos isn't in a bad mood today. Especially after this." Just then, there was a knock on their door. Kas opened the door, and his friend and fellow student, Kiokai, was standing in the doorway, with a slightly annoyed look on his face. "What's taking you so long?" he asked. "I've been waiting at the old fountain for almost a half hour!".

"Sorry," Kas said. "I couldnt find my book on ressurection, and Selos said I would need it this time." "So you're finally going to raise the dead, eh? Finally, I won't be the only one who is reviving people," he said, with a calmer, cheerier tone of voice. "Yes, but I will be reviving them into live things, not bring their spirits back like you do," Kas remarked. Kiokai then turned the other direction and beckoned him, "Come on, lets hurry up before they realize we're late!" So Kas grabbed the remainder of his things and they sped off to the temple

When they got to the temple's entrance, it was empty of people. No teachers, students, or monks in sight. "The coast is clear, let's move," Kiokai whispered. As they were walking down a corridor, they were grabbed from behind. This "attacker" was no assasin, it was Borther Selos. "What have you two been up to?" he queried. "Sneaking around? Playing hookie again, Kiokai?". Whenever the two had committed a misdead, brother Selos was never really mad at them. In fact, he was never really mad ever, except on certain occasions. "Im surprized to see you with him, Kas. You know we have a very important lesson today," said the monk. "i'm sorry, Selos, it will not happen again," Kas said. "You see, earlier I was searching for my ressurection tome because I lost it and-".

"Do not trouble yourself over it, young monk. What is done is done," he said kindly."The important thing is that you are here. Now come along, we must start our lesson. Kiokai, I suggest you go to your lesson as well. Don't try to lie either, Ritualist Dekahl already knows about this. But do not worry, he's in a good mood today. So the two friends bid their goodbyes for the afternoon, and went to their lesson. With a smile on his face, Kas thought about how great life is in Kaineng City. But in the coming months, he may start to feel otherwise.
