Only a female profession? That wouldn't work. At all. Tyloric 23:42, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your support... --|Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 09:01, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

PROBLEM[edit]

It's way too complicated, with a lot of "new" stuff. For one, what is nature damage? what is a natural area? How the fuck is GW going to handle flying, when the game is 2D?

I would suggest that you keep it simple. I would also recommend that you trash the "female only" aspect. The Spanish Inquisition (I know, not relevant, but bear with me) accused and executed males for witchcraft, so I guess you can go in that direction. I like the idea of a "naturistic" caster, and it readily fills a necessary niche (Like a cross between a ranger and elementalist) but it's going to crumble on you if you try to keep it too complex. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 09:37, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Nature damage is a new sort of damage for weapons and skills, like fire damage.. A natural area is an area with more trees then random (ehm, need balancing ^^) GW2 is using a new engine (I think) and then it isn't a real problemm, btw, with flying I mean 'in the air', not incredible high... I hope i make somethings clear now... --|Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 14:24, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Well wouldn't earth damage be more appropriate? Tyloric 01:29, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe but I mean a sort of natural aura damage (green and transparent) |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 12:45, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey dutchie![edit]

i love the idea, one obvious change needed is the female only...as nuklear said, males were accused of witchcraft as well, and male "witches" are generally noted as "warlocks", so there isn't a reason why this cool profession shouldn't be available to guys. the skill ideas you have i really like, they're original and very well balanced, although a couple *cough* living ranks *cough* are a bit overpowered or should be made elite. flying, i think, could be as simple as being raised off of the ground a couple feet and moving faster. that would be cool! NalanaUser Nalana Darkling Blue Eye2.jpgTalk 13:53, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

I have balanced Living Ranks ^^ It is now a elite hex spell... --|Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 14:25, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
could i suggest either 66% or 90% movement speed decrease? not being able to move AT ALL for 20 seconds would be ridiculous...having people stack balthazars aura and sandstorm and savannah heat on you all at once would pwn LOL NalanaUser Nalana Darkling Blue Eye2.jpgTalk 23:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
It is simple, don't forget your hex remover!! |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 12:47, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
But really, Im now bussy with balancing the profession ^^ |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 18:00, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Yay! Now guys can be witches/warlocks too! This profession looks fun :D NalanaUser Nalana Darkling Blue Eye2.jpgTalk 23:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Would the witch look anything like this (i did not render this picture) [1]? On a side not, I think that witches should have really long staves, closer to walking sticks (you know how each profession's weapons are skinned differently, ritualist staves are different from monk staves, etc. ) NalanaUser Nalana Darkling Blue Eye2.jpgTalk 22:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Ehm..... no, more like the art work of Victoria Frances ^^ |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 17:25, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Rituals[edit]

How did you forget to mention rituals?

wikipedia: When practising magic and casting spells, as well as when celebrating various festivals, Wiccans use a variety of rituals. In typical rites, the coven or solitary assembles inside a ritually cast and purified magic circle. Casting the circle may involve the invocation of the "Guardians" of the cardinal points: East (Air), South (Fire), West (Water) and North (Earth). This use of the classical elements is a key feature of the Wiccan world-view. Every manifest force or form is seen to express one or more of the four elements. Some add a fifth or quintessential element called Spirit (also called aether or akasha). The five points of the frequently worn pentagram symbolise, among other things, the four elements with spirit presiding at the top.[23] Once the circle is cast, a seasonal ritual may be performed, prayers to the God and Goddess are said, and spells are sometimes worked.

An idea for you is to insert rituals for the Gods in something similar to this:

Balthazar's Blessing:- Group Ritual. While all party members are alive, your party is under the effect of Balthazar's Blessings. If a party member dies, this ritual ends and all group rituals on your skill bar are disabled for 60 seconds. Only 1 group ritual can be active on your group at a time. (50% failure with Natural Contact 7 or less.)

The blessings will be the ones given by the Champion of Balthazar. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 18:59, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

I have added some rituals... But I don't know of that is what you mean. Also, rituals for the gods are more something for Dervishes, but I can change it a little, because the Witch is a magic/support class. But, however, Im on it ^^ --|Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgRefreshment!| 06:26, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Flying[edit]

I noticed that the judges are saying that the flying aspect will be difficult to implement. If I understood this right, it's not flying like going over buildings and stuff, but floating. Something similar to Margonite Sorcerers. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 19:39, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

I thought the same thing. This 'flying' could simply be hovering a bit off the ground...nothing to change the game with (although they are adding jumping and climbing!) I thought this flying would mainly effect the mechanics of the game, like a blessing or bonus, and just be like what Magey here said for the visual effect. EDIT: Also, there are so many flying creatures in the game as is! I dont see why anyone thought this would be difficult to implement. /rant NalanaUser Nalana Darkling Blue Eye2.jpgTalk 01:57, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
i asked Cyan what exactly she meant somewhere, but can't seem to find it anymore. and she didn't mean hovering like minipets (graphically) while being on ground mechanically. - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.png 16:11, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
I think we have here the traditional 'crime in a closed box'. To make things clear: Mage, you are right. Floating like a Margonite was my idea for this profession. With the skill 'Dark Wings' I mean to say that you move faster and you are less effected by damage from all sources, because all damage is transferred in Dark damage. In combination with Insignias for the Witch who say: Armor against dark damage = +20, is it a sort of Stone Sheath. I hope it makes something clear. And sorry for the late reponse... |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgBoooh!!!| 12:33, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
ah, so i really did misinterpret what you said xD - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.png 18:43, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I think so... Doesn't mind ^^ |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgBoooh!!!| 18:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
