- There's no problem using a trademarked name for a userID, unless you plan on making money or ruining the reputation of Disney by doing so. It's also fine if DD wants to use German (as long as wiki policies are followed). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:09, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, im pretty sure, that i saw a mark on a russian guild side, that they have to change it in english (text was completly in russian). Furthermore, although his english seems better than mine, normally there should be enough users here unable to speak german. I mean, in the german wikis, most spam/commercials are not in german, so i wouldnt wonder, if some users would disagree with a complete german userspace (I personally would prefer to work with the english wiki, but each of my edits would need one to correct it, so i reduce my work to the german ones ;). Of course there are far more people, which can use english at least in low quality like me, so i may are a bit to naive to compare to the german wikis^^. Greetings, --Naruuu 02:38, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Rules on other sites and laws in other countries might differ (some website hosts are more nervous about such things). But, as long as Herr Duck doesn't claim he speaks in any way for the great Disney, he should be fine here. (I say this as someone who has used the Tennessee Ernie Ford userID for coming up on 18 years now...and even when I ran my own websites, it wasn't an issue.)
- Regarding English vs Deutsch: of course, Mr Duck will be able to communicate more effectively with more people here if he posts in English, but there's no rule requiring that he do so. (He could, should he want to, create a GW2W page in German, on one GW2W/Fr in English, and use French on the GW2W/De page. Why anyone might want to do that... I don't know, but it would be ok.)
- Regarding quality of the written language: there are plenty of people here who would happily assist yourself or Herr Duck, should you want some help. (Although, I should say, if you didn't tell me you were a non-native English speaker, I doubt I would have guessed it.) (Which reminds me: did I get the topic header correct? My spoken German is terrible on a good day and I can't remember the last time I had to write in German.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have seen more than enough bad german in the german userspaces (It is a no-go to correct other userspaces in the german wikis, but it is also horrible, how often there are userspaces with a higher amount of mistakes than sentences...), your german is pretty good compared to some stuff created by some native germans ;) Furthermore my english may is understandable, but i have to use the dictionary for it and are using commas three times more than needed, so it is not good enough for using it professional^^ BTW, yeah, sometimes i should also look here, if i could bring useful information, if i saw i right, the herotip for the deep was added here later than it was added (by me) in the german wiki, and altough i couldnt find it here, i didnt thought one minute aboute adding it here, too...^^ Grettings, --Naruuu 14:57, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
--Naruuu 22:13, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
