In the original GW there were times when you were leaded by spirits of others through the story.. like Nika in factions, or ghostly hero in crystal desert of prophecies. Also, the sacred place, where hero souls go after death, is Hall of Heroes. Plus, we will have tied accounts. Although this would be difficult, my idea would be, if a player has a tied account between GW and GW2, and one of the GW characters would have finished one of the campaigns and earned theyr spot in the Hall of Heroes, then your old character's (either by ability to chose the character once, or randomly)soul would get you through some of the storyline (like Master Togo took you through most of the factions campaign, the difference it would only give you advice's and a few orders of what must be done to progress further (liek ancient sir and the mursaat)). Remodeling the old looks into souls for the new engine is difficult, but i think this would put alot of nostalgic feelings, which would only make game more fun, because you know that after your characters soul went to hall of heroes it didnt just dissapear and it still plays a vital role in your GW2 preformance (offcourse for people with no tied account or fitting character some NPC sould would be in place). actual player carryover and what makes sense[edit]

I think that there should be an option to carryover at lest one of your former charicters in addition to new generation of the former heros could be done by a ingame quest. The quest should be in a sense that the people of Tyria have dicovered a way to fully resurrect a great hero "your former charicter" back to full flesh and bone, with out the ghastlyness of having to use necromancy which would be only be temporary. The end quest reward?, The full use of the former character preserved perfectly as the day you transferred him, this meaning all of his skills, items and looks as well as armor is the same but updated if the graphics changed in the game. How ever if you carry over one of the charicters this will take one spot in your account. --Raymondo 02:51, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

thats a similar idea to mine, the difference is that you want your old character playable.. i doubt that idea because the game will probably be rebalanced all over... and by rebalance i mean new classes new skills... and dont forget new races... so thats the problem with transfering your former character... thats - skills (86.100.3.250 18:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC))

Structure of the story[edit]

Citation from GWW article on GW2: "Guild Wars 2 PvE will still tell a story but will depart from a single monolithic storyline. It will instead use smaller story arcs - allowing the player more of a sandbox environment to play in." Ok, so what I think about this is: Ok, a bit diversity helps, but again, what was said a million times before: Don't make it to much like WoW." I suggest that the story would still have a "red line", but that at some points, you would need to do chapters of the game in your own chosen order (eg. like the 3 Ascension missions in Proph.). Also you should be somtimes put in situations you must decide between 2 or even 3 choices, that then each contain a series of missions, before you get on the originam monolithic track(graphically: ---<==>--). A nice example of the 2 choices would be the missions Nundu Bay and Jennur's Horde in Nightfall (you help either Koss or Melloni, but either way you get to Gate of Desolation, and can later do the other missions of the previous choice too).Death Demonisher 09:26, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
