Define "system lockup" pls. Rose Of Kali 03:44, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- Heh, My laptop just freezes, have to do the whole "hold the button till it switches off" method, then whn I power back up go back into GW, used to let me reconnect when that happened. - Jon Will 19:59, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- You may have a bigger problem on your hands then. The reason it locks up may also be the reason you can't reconnect, but I don't know enough about the way reconnection works and what's locking up your laptop to help you further. Hope someone can help you figure it out. Rose Of Kali 20:20, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think that's the problem, as I was previously able to reconnect to the game when it happened, until this recent update, (The lock ups/shutdowns are invariable due to heat issues by the way, my own fault, cause of where I play.) - Jon Will 21:24, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I see. It's very interesting that it seems to depend on which character you used as security answer, AND on whether you crashed or simply disconnected the net. Also, do you use the auto-login command line or no? If you try to autologin back with your "main" but got disconnected on a different character, it may "confuse" GW and it doesn't know you want to reconnect back on a different char or something. Next time it shuts down, try to input the name of the character that got disconnected in the security field instead of some other one you normally use. Rose Of Kali 22:02, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- Alrighty I'll do that next time it happens, I'll get back to you with the result, and I do indeed auto login, Using command arguments. - Jon Will 00:00, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- That's what I was referring to when I said it may "confuse" GW 2 posts up. Rose Of Kali 23:18, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

So, that yes and yes with a crash, I originally logged with a character, then disconnected while playing a different character, upon re-logging I put in the characters name that I was playing, I was allowed to reconnect. So I can surmise, that it allows a reconnect if you log in with the character you've disconnected from. But that's only when You have a system crash. Confusing business. - Jon Will 11:45, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- Indubidably... Rose Of Kali 23:16, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
