Windborne Speed[edit]

In this edit, what formula did you use to calculate those numbers? --Silver Edge 21:57, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Cast time + aftercast delay along with duration.--Relyk 18:29, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
well something looks wrong to me then (might be the text description).
so the equation if you wait for the enchantment to expire before recasting is
Average speed = ( total time spent moving * speed ) / (total time spent ) = ( ( duration - aftercast ) * speed ) / ( cast time + duration )
I calculate it to be 0.244...0.294 when used on expiry.
if used whenever it recharges (change duration for recharge in above formula), then its 0.244 at all ranks. -Chieftain Alex 19:57, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Maybe I did the numbers slightly wrong:
5 seconds:  (5 * 1.33 + .75 * 0 + .75 * 0)  / (5 + .75 + .75)  = 1.023 => 2.3%
13 seconds: (13 * 1.33 + .75 * 0 + .75 * 0) / (13 + .75 + .75) = 1.192 => 19.2%
yeah?--Relyk 04:50, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
We've both got the numbers wrong I think.
The whole duration of the enchantment isn't spent running - your first 0.75s are spent standing still with aftercast (with the enchantment running during this time), so we should be subtracting aftercast from the time spent running at max.
5 seconds:  ((5-0.75) * 1.33 + .75 * 0 + .75 * 0)  / ((5-0.75) + .75 + .75)  = 0.983 => -1.7%
13 seconds: ((13-0.75) * 1.33 + .75 * 0 + .75 * 0) / ((13-0.75) + .75 + .75) = 1.184 => 18.4%

X seconds: ((X-0.75) * 1.33 + .75 * 0 + .75 * 0) / ((X-0.75) + .75 + .75)
         = ((X-0.75) * 1.33) / (X + .75)
         = ((duration - aftercast) * ( 1 + %speed ))/(enchantment duration + casting time)
I'd honestly have expected a 33% movement skill for a long time should be nearly averaging 30%. I guess we could test this with a player with sprint and see if the guy with Windborne can bulls them. -Chieftain Alex 09:51, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
I couldn't catch koss (he used sprint) when I had mending touch on my monk (r14 windbourne). I'm surprised tbh. -Chieftain Alex 10:12, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
When in doubt, touch the black guy.--Relyk 05:51, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
