Good luck with your project, that's quite a lot of data to collect there! Shadow Shadow Runner sig 1.jpg Runner 16:24, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Shadow, hopefully I can find a quick way to track down all of this without messing up my playing. A printed sheet and pencil at hand will be my friends at RA sessions. ;)--Sensei 16:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
When I do RA I could collect my stats as well if ya like? Shadow Shadow Runner sig 1.jpg Runner 16:36, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Sure thanks, feel free to add to any section (except of course each person's personal section), as well as creating your own personal section. :) I'll add some tables as soon as I figure out how. :P You can make your own section with any statistic you want.--Sensei 17:05, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

The personal statistics thing isn't super informative, to be honest. In Guild Wars, simply knowing someone's primary (and even sometimes secondary) profession doesn't tell you what sort of build they're running, and it certainly doesn't tell you their level of skill or coordination. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png{{Bacon}} 04:14, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Sure it does. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 04:21, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, random arena. Sorry, my mistake. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 04:25, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
lol so true. Don't forget this one though. :) --Sensei 11:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the comment Armond. Yeah I am aware of that, but it is pretty difficult to track people's skill bars in such quick matches. It is a bit easier to observe while playing Monk, but even then, some players can't even be observed using an elite skill during a whole 5-10 match period. I swear I once Monked to an Ele that did nothing but cast Flare repeatedly every single match. Probably a joke build or self imposed challenge? Maybe not... lol, see how I like to torture myself? So even noting people's elite skills may be difficult, let alone builds. I'll try to add some more detailed descriptions, though, specially elite skills of choice. Most 'weird' builds are noted in the description column, others can be assumed to be 'expected' roles. I can also rename my page if it seems misleading - the 'statistics' are more for fun than for anything else, and although I try to make them as accurate as possible, I know most people don't take Random Arenas seriously. It's definitely one of my favorite places in the whole GW though, due to the unpredictability and amusement factor.--Sensei 11:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, you needn't know their elite to get a general idea of what they're doing, which is more what I meant (did you get a team with, for example, two frontline, a pblock mesmer, and a healer prism E/Rt, or were the two warriors using conjure phantasm and flare the whole time?). Also, imo farming is farming whether it's enjoyable or not. :P -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png{{Bacon}} 14:03, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Understandable. I am going to try and take notes of certain builds I found interesting (or just plain terrible or hilarious), but I tend to believe they won't add up to a significant amount in the end. After all, very bad builds or sub-otimal builds usually cripple a team enough to stop it from earning glads if faced against a proper team/mirror match. Earning glads with someone very bad in the team requires, from my experience, that 1). other allies are running devasting builds and playing them well and 2). that a good team with 4 good players won't face you. Getting lucky happens once in a while but more often than not you get screwed. Let's say by the end of the year I have won 100 gladiator points with a Warrior in my team. Even if one had Flare and Firestorm, another two were "paladins" with only healing skills, and another had random hexes, that's still less than 95% of the total of Warriors that played with me and won glads, so the vast majority presumably ran average-to-good-to-excellent melee builds. :) --Sensei 17:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
