Critique[edit]

"Seeing Mr. Ed beating back Charr hoards with his hooves, while it would be hilarious, is something I just cannot take seriously. "

Clearly, you have no idea what sort of horses mounted knights used. Have you ever seen a Clydesdale? They were originally bred by the Germans to carry knights in full plate and are enormous-- many times the size of a Charr. The average Clydesdale is about 2,000 pounds in weight. http://www.seaworld.org/animal-info/info-books/clydesdale/physical-characteristics.htm

Hit a Charr with a 2,000 pound hammer. That's the equivalent of a Clydesdale hoof-stomp. Certainly nothing to laugh at.

Even your typical american riding horse can cause severe injuries with a kick:

"Conclusion: Clinical: the equestrian community may underestimate the risk of severe injuries attribtuable to hoof kicks, especially while handling the horse" http://emj.bmj.com/content/19/6/573.full

"Kicks are serious business. They can be disfiguring and even fatal. " http://www.whmentors.org/saf/kick.html

The fact of the matter is mounted Knights were feared as much or more for the destructive power of their horses them themselves. There is a reason why city police use horses to this day for crowd control.

Your argument is not just weak, but outright wrong.

Horses obviously exist in the world of GuildWars because there are places named for them in GW2 http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Iron_Horse_Mines

You cannot call something an "Iron Horse" unless you first know what a horse is.

Furthermore the Risen_Knight contains elements of both horse and rider. So not only do they exist, but they are ridden by knights into battle.
