Add Kurzick/Luxon reward to even out PvP waiting times[edit]

MOVED FROM User talk:Linsey Murdock

I came back to Guild Wars after quite a while, and started playing K vs L PvP. Sadly, not much has change since my departure a year ago. Kurzick side is usually full, and Luxons are nowhere to be seen or vice-versa, depending on the time of the day. This is logical, but it would be so simple to even it out! I as a Kurzick would love to play the other side, but it's not worth it as I can't exchange the faction in the 2:1 ratio that is desired for the title. The solution would be simple, add a Faction reward that requires a lot of faction (10k to 20k), gives and item but gives twice as many points for the title. The ideal items for this would be the Amber Summoning Stone, Jadeite Summoning Stone, perhaps Mystical Summoning Stone and the Demonic Summoning Stone for more faction. If there was at least one option to gain twice as many Faction points for the title like when giving faction to your alliance, but for the opposite side I'm sure many players, myself included would gladly join the other side and even out the loading time of these annoying waiting arenas. Cheers for reading this, and if not.. well, I tried. --SkyHiRider 22:13, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

I like this idea! SUPPORTED! - Salome User salome sig2.png 00:00, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't mind having a new item that didn't require you to be of a certain faction in order to gain double points. When I was working on R1 Luxon, I was a Kurzick and therefore could only get Jade and scrolls. Very painful. I would support this if it was just double the points gained from Amber/Jadeite to the title. Although making a 20k donation for Amber/Jadeite summoning stones would be nice - as would an even higher *to compensate skipping an elite mission* for the Demonic/Mystical summoning stone. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 05:55, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
The problem is individual players would have no incentive to donate their faction to alliance, they would feel they're losing on those items. So if there are any added benefits on top of getting double title points, it should be only available for opposing side, so it's not an alternative to donating to your alliance. Even then the benefit should be very small (negligible), so we don't have absurd situation where the optimal way to earn the Kurzick title is to join a Luxon alliance. Maybe better just don't give any added benefits. Even a simple option to donate faction as a guest as if you were a member of that guild/alliance would be great and there surely would be plenty of alliances wanting to guest players for their faction for free.--YawgYawg 20:04, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
The problem is individual players would have no incentive to donate their faction to alliance, they would feel they're losing on those items - I only donate to the alliance/guild because it gives me more points, personally I'm not part of an alliance/guild where faction points are worth anything to the guild/alliance. If there were more productive rewards I for one would go that way. Options, are always good. 000.00.00.00 20:09, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Same here... Just donating to Alliance because it gives the points.. The Guild/Alliances I've been in so far didnt care about faction at all (Otherwise I wouldn't have joined) and I often felt like wasting my hard earned Faction Points (especially back when I was new to GW) because you dont get anything for it, they're just gone. Nevertheless today I dont think of the Faction as wasted so much anymore because whatever else you can get for it is either worthless, crap you never need / have any use for, or just insanely expensive. So I just go spent to Aliance get my points and be happy. I am against introducing yet another worthless item you never need / have no use for as its been suggested in the OP. I think the best Idea so far is to allow Guests to spend Faction to their Guest Guild as it benefit both. I would've liked to be able to spend Faction to the Guest Guild alot of times already when I tried. --SilentStorm Talk to me 20:30, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
There is one limited option to earn double points of the opposite faction. After you reach rank 1, you can start learning PvE skills at 3k faction each, which gives double points for the title. At 10 skills per character, that's 60k faction points for your title per character. It's very limited, but can help for a while. You can also stretch it further if you re-roll a new PvE character and get guest invited to the opposing guild, where you can instantly learn the skills in their guild hall without having to go all the way to Cavalon/HzH. True, but the PvE character has to be lvl 20 to be able to learn these skills, so technically it is possible but you would have to level up the char first, then get an invite and then get 60k title points for 30k faction - not worth the trouble. --SkyHiRider 04:25, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Zeros: If there were more productive rewards, not only you but everyone would go for them. More options are good only if they don't completely obsolete existing ones. There has to be a tradeoff - either you get more points or some different added benefits. The only problem to be addressed here is the lack of a comfortably reusable ability to get double title points for your opposing faction title. No need for anything extra.--YawgYawg 12:04, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I think this is GREAT idea,I'd LOVE to see it in game. The Legend 16:33, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
