User talk:Why/Suggestions/Rainbow Dye

Bloody good idea. A related idea is to have a colour chart containing all the colours you can create with the dyes you stick in a box. You pick one colour on the chart and it automatically drags all the dyes required from the box to the armour window. Spawnlegacy 09:06, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

To further develop this idea, perhaps you'd want to customise your armor further by being able to use multiple colours on your armor to, say, create your own designs or insignia on your armor. Napalm Flame 13:27, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
There isn't a whole lot of coding work extra needed for a rainbow dye as you presented it, you pass the rendering engine a value and let it figure out the rest. Whether this value is the result of named constants (DyeBlue&&ByeBrown) or pure hex value attached to item X, there should be little problem. Adding insignias is significantly more code and increases the burden of maintaining player-customized items on a server. Adding custom designs takes the previous problem and increases it exponentially. (not to mention all the work into the interface to do that at client-level) Having said that, it might make more sense for something like the Extreme Makeover packs to access something like this. 69.136.124.198 20:03, 11 May 2009 (UTC) Forgot to login.
