The Annual PvP-A-Thon is an annual event of non-stop PvP. There are two different sections of the event. There is the competitive part and the "just for fun" part. The competitive part is more for experienced players who wish to fight for prizes, and the "just for fun" part is to make friends, have a good time, and play without pressure.
History[edit]
The idea originally started as a small group of pvp-oriented players who held daily scrimmages. However, in late 2006, they thought that they could share their small, daily scrimmages with the rest of the community. After weeks of tiring planning and advertising, they recruited over 300 players to join in a massive scrimmage tournament the likes of which Guild Wars had never seen. There were small entrance fees, and small prizes for everyone. However, there were two main divisions, there was the "Just for Fun" (JFF) division and the Competitive (Comp) division. Both of which had two distincly different types of players. The event lasted for a number of days ending on December 25, 2006 with a final play-off between two major pvp-based guilds. It was a fun time for everyone with free ale given before and after fights.
Activities[edit]
The Annual PvP-A-Thon is planned to be held in the months of January and December. There will be a number of both short and long-term scrimmages. There will be 5 major types of scrimmages, each very distinct:
- 1v1 Duels
- 2v2 Partner matches
- 4v4 TA-based matches
- 6v6 Classic HA matches
- 8v8 GvGs
Much of the event is planned to be held on the Burning Isle or the Isle of Jade. There will be entrance fees for tournaments, but not friendly scrimmages.
Registration/Pricing[edit]
- Scrimmages of any type excluding tournament - free
- 1v1 tournaments - 100g per entrant
- Final 1v1 playoff - 500g per entrant
- 2v2 tournaments - 200g per entrant
- Final 2v2 playoff - 1k per entrant
- 4v4 tournaments - 500g per entrant
- Final 4v4 playoff - 2.5k per entrant
- 6v6 tournaments - 1k per entrant
- Final 6v6 playoff - 5k per entrant
- 8v8 tournaments - 5k per entrant
- Final 8v8 GvG playoff - 20k per entrant
There will be a grand finale which rotates each type of play, It will be the final tournament on Christmas day, Its registration price will be as follows
- Grand finale, rotating play - 100k per entrant

Note: All rewards are given to each entrant who paid the entrance fee. Each member of the winning GvG team gets the reward mentioned.
