Incendiary Bonds Incendiary Bonds

Life Infusion Issue -- 20:41, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Discussion

Issue
Liquid Flame does more damage if you use it right and doesn't take 5 seconds for the damage to come
if hex is removed no damage is taken
doesn't stack since it is a hex
"low threat with 3 second warning"
Suggestion
"Hex Spell. Target foe and all nearby foes are set on fire for 3 seconds and are Hexed with Incendiary Bonds for 1 second. When Incendiary Bonds ends, target foe and all nearby foes are struck for 20...68...80 fire damage. 15 energy/2 cast/15 recharge"

or

"Hex Spell. Target foe and all nearby foes are are struck for 20...68...80 fire damage and are Hexed with Incendiary Bonds for 1 second. After 1 second, target foe and all nearby foes set on fire for 3 seconds. 15 energy/2 cast/15 recharge" like AoE shatterstone.

or

"Target and all nearby foes take 25...85...106 fire damage and are hexed with Incendiary Bonds. For 10 seconds, target and all nearby foes suffer an additional 1..3...4 health degeneration while burning. 15 energy/2 cast/15 recharge"

or

reduce to 1 cast time, 5 recharge (from User:Symbol)

What is this skill for?

Issue
This skill is generally useless. Too much recharge time, easily removed, and not worth using for the energy cost. At first I thought it was for AoE spiking with Rodgort's Invocation, but burning doesn't stack. Plus it is a hex and therefore can be removed.
Solution
Reduce recharge time to 8 seconds, increase damage to 15...75...95, increase Burning duration to 1...4...5 seconds. This makes it like Rodgort's Invocation, except it costs less energy and is a bit slower.

God this is terrible - User:Frvwfr2 frvwfr2 (talk · contributions) 18:40, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Issue
Compare it to Immolate - Lower damage, same burning, but 5 more energy, 12 more recharge and 1s higher cast. lolwut? Yeah, AoE, but who cares, its not instant or anything either.
Suggestion
Not a clue, but at the moment this is bad as shit.
5e cost, 1s cast, 8s recharge. Add so that when the damage triggers you gain 1...7...9 energy. Not "When it ends" cuz then if removed you would still get energy, which is actually an interesting way to counter it. A worse Glowing Gaze for secondary Ele's

Issue
I think others have summed it up thoroughly already. I started playing with it and it's actually quite fun to use (and it's not horrible, just a little weak), but like Smoldering Embers, lacks that "oh yeah, this clicks" feeling you get when a skill is working smoothly. I don't think it will ever be a go-to ability (too many things need to work out each time it's used), but it could at least be buffed a teeny bit to make it more appealing.
Suggestion
  • Reduce cast time to 1 second (seriously)
  • Cause Burning but not damage if it's removed early. (or damage but not Burning, whichever is considered weaker) Just throw people some kind of bone for that 15 energy / 15 cooldown if it gets insta-stripped before the 3s ticks by. Something. Anything. Even Flare damage.
