ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Display accomplishments in guild hall

Maybe (to prevent a mass of space being needed) one could have in each guild hall an entrance to tha hall of monuments, and one could choose a guildy whose hall to enter. Players could set that to open for anyone, open to guildies or closed; only those visible to you would show up in the list. Matter of selecting the ones you want to see. This way you need almost no extra space (just a door to the HoM, a variable with each player or char, and a selection list). Further decorating your own room/hall of course would be great, but takes up lots of space so would be something for the future I assume.

A guild-hall-of-monuments, displaying trophies etc of guild accomplishments, would be nice too, but only if there would be more guild activities. --Tenshi Samshel 16:27, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Response to suggestion for individual entrances

Individual entrances to Halls of Monuments defeat the core concept. The idea is to showcase and display individual and guild achievements in a simple and easy-to-access format. This cannot be accomplished if one must enter hundreds of doors to see individual halls. Therefore the individual accomplishments must be summarized and shown in relatively small spaces which can be seen all at once or in rapid succession, ergo "cells" which display characters and their deeds.

I agree with the cells concept. When the Hall of Monuments was announced for GW:EN, that is actually what I expected. The image I saw was a cylindrical room filled with small glass compartments that you could peer into and see an achievement. Perhaps in GW2 those compartments could be zoomed into so that a player can get a closer look. Another idea would be shadow boxes for each individual guild player. They could be displayed on one wall in the guild hall, and a player could select which one he/she wanted to look at. Phazor 05:24, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Phazor
