ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Realistic AI

Well as much as I hate farmers and imbecilic AI's "intelligent" mobs, first off make a VERY difficult learning curve, and second, are incredibly difficult to program in the context that you are considering. Weaponmaster 09:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I have a suggestion concerning this, possibly have enemies sometimes run rarer alternative builds that work to prevent the type of meta-gaming that can run rampant in such farm-able areas. This is better because it wouldn't change the game too much in terms of processing power, and the alternative builds could be of varying levels of quality, some pretty good, some pretty bad (imagine RA, where sometimes the people you are teamed up with are just bad or have bad build. Also, this would be only a smaller percentage of the enemies). Also, it would be pretty awesome if enemies would do random things once in a while like sitting down to eat (making them more prone to ambushes) or having fights within the group (causing damage and if properly timed, could lead to easy kills). This would have to be balanced by something else that would give the enemies some kind of advantage, such as positioning themselves strategically or luring you (hey, we all fall for traps once in a while). This would indeed make combat more interesting IMO. The Emissary 04:48, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
