Haven't they already been doing this in GW1 with alpha testing? -- Gordon Ecker 07:15, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- That's just Izzy and their team, who (no offense intended) don't exactly have a good track record of choosing the best ideas to play with (see the stopgap measure that was VoD and the following year of work to get it balanced instead of just socking something better in). --76.25.197.215 07:20, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't referring to the current testing, I was referring to the larger scale invitational alpha testing they did prior to the release of the campaigns. -- Gordon Ecker 08:19, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oh. Then yeah, that, but don't end it when the game's released. Keep the servers around and let people that know what they're doing play with them. --76.25.197.215 08:27, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- "Why not provide a handful to the best players/guilds" coz there isn't such :p, sad but true 91.152.181.104 14:36, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Last of Master recently returned. Give one to him, at least. :O
- Besides, from what I've heard most of the good players are planning to return for GW2. --76.25.197.215 22:44, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Best players in the game? ... right. Everyone thinks they're the best. 000.00.00.00 01:04, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Wow. Um. Okay, wasn't ready for that argument, I honestly thought the solution was so obvious that that question would never even come up. Here it is.
- DON'T ASK PEOPLE IF THEY'RE GOOD. DECIDE FOR YOURSELF.
- Skill is something that can be objectively observed, and since the only people who would even be capable of handing out servers are the devs, people's opinions of themselves don't even come into play. And since they helped develop Guild Wars, I trust that they'll be familiar enough with the game to make decent choices, and if they don't that they'll be screamed at by the community until they do. And if they find that too difficult, they can ask some people who they think is good, then ask those people who they think is good, then ask those people who they think is good, and so on, and as long as they start with some relatively informed people, they'll end up with a handful of the best players. --76.25.197.215 04:55, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
