ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Year long season, night and day cycle
Burning arrows at night would be cool. My concern with how this would work is, if the day/night scheduled matched real times, then people would either be always playing at night, or in the day depending on where they lived, not to mention that if you're playing with someone in China and you're in the U.S., how would each of you see the area as the same area? My only guess at an answer would be that the in game time must be on a separate and 'universal' schedule, so when it's night time in the game, everyone playing sees it as night. Plus, if you're out in an area, as time passes, wouldn't you have to face nocturnal animals that would be 'waking' up? If there is going to be any titles like vanquisher out there, that could pose a problem. I think if they can figure out and solve all the problems with it though, I think that would be cool.--209.194.208.116 22:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I think this is a great idea. Kind of like oblivion and some other games with the night/day thing. Personally, I'd LOVE a game that has a winter season at night, or a summer season at morning. Ooh! and rain storms and such ^^
Might I add that what you have suggested is already being used in GuildWars? If I'm not mistaken, it is based on the Tyrian Calendar.
