Shatterstone > Lightning Surge , keep the dmg on Lightning Surge and add 25% armor pentration and change so it triggers even if removed before the 3 seconds are over 89.211.2.3 20:39, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

no one removes it before the 3 seconds, and if they did thier just wasting thier hex removal on something that can easily be healed after its done 76.26.189.65 02:16, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
The suggestion misses the problem with the skill. People don't bring the skill as it's clearly a spike support spell (using it as pressure or utility is laughable at best) but it sucks at it in comparison to so many other skills (Shatterstone, Ancestor's, Lightning Orb with the recent buff) and it means giving up your high air spec Bsurge's defense for bad spiketelegraphing offense. If it wants to see use it has to apply either the knock down or the damage as part of the cast. I'd vote the knock down, as it doesn't run the risk of starting some kind of new air spike fad in that case. Maybe reduce the casting time by 1 and increase the recharge to 12 -- but that may be overdoing it a bit. Akirai Annuvil 00:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Thing is, it is not a weak spike skill. The trick is not to cast on the target being spiked. The only buff I see for this is not turn it into a plain spell. force monks to preprot instead of denying it. Then you get a very, potent spike skill which can cover your arse. Problem with this is if removed, nothing happens. On shatterstone, it still does the dmg when removed. Just make Lightning Surge end on hex removal too and it'll be good. Moush 18:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

I honestly believe that no matter how you buff this skill, it will be outclassed by BSurge. I would certainly agree with making the effect happen even if it were removed, and/or adding in the 25% armor pen. The other thing that could make this skill interesting would be to change it to match shatter stone with a difference effect. Make it apply the damage right away, and follow with knockdown 3 seconds later. --Angelic Loki 07:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

that seems either really dumb or really smart, really dumb = they take dmg, heal, randomly gets KDed... really smart = they take dmg, gale, they get up, get kded again instantly... either way just giving it armor penetration would make it more useable in some formats other then gvg/ha 76.26.189.65 12:16, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it does seem a bit awkward when put that way. I agree it should have armor pen.. I just think that the damage is to hard to control. It should provide a very effective KD/Damage combo, because it has to compete with BSurge. Like I said before, I dont think there is a way to make it compete. --Angelic Loki 05:50, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
you know if they got rid of the stupid "3 seconds later", you might see it on mesmer bars replacing gale, currently it can be used as a pretty powerful spiked - surge, orb, any air damage spell (cant think of any good) which would work on small arenas 76.26.189.65 10:21, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
That's completely better than Mind Shock. File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 17:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
mindshock has 2 packets of damage and has AP 76.26.189.65 21:49, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Not having exhaustion is far more potent. A KD with 80ish dmg every 5 secs? me likey. File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 23:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
this skill is pretty guud so no buff plz --Blood Anthem User Blood Anthem Sig.jpg 23:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Nah, it's reasonable in PvE and low end PvP, but useless in high-end PvP. Good monks will remove it, bad ones end up sitting on the ground every 13 seconds.
Don't delete! I added a suggestion.
That looks decent for a pressure elite. If life doesn't object, I2ll compund both suggestions and remove the delete tag. -- NUKLEAR User NuclearVII signature 3.jpgIIV 15:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
