I do like the idea of cursing them with Cacophany and then yelling in their ears to cause damage. =D - Elder Angelus 14:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, it makes more sense theme-wise and would open up some interesting attack options. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:81.107.195.55 (talk).
Definitely a bad idea. 60 damage for being affected by shouts and chants. Simply use this, then have 5 people use "You're All Alone!" and then use "You Will Die!". Shouts have instant activation, so this is an instant 600 damage(People without Nightfall can use "Victory Is Mine!" instead).
EXCEPT that "You're All Alone!" only affects people who are not near an ally and "You Will Die!" and "Victory is Mine!" don't actually affect enemies at all - though I'm not sure how this would work within the game engine, or even if it's actually feasilbe at all (you can tell if someone has been targetted by a skill, but can you tell if it actually affects them?). Also, YAA and ViM are both elite, but that alone isn't enough. You could always decrease the damage a bit, but I guess it's a case of one of those things which is balanced if it's just a person or two using the hex and some shouts, but imba if it's a whole team, so it could end up being put to the point where it's not useful at all unless you have a whole team built around it.
Doesn't matter if they are affected, they are still technically the target of a shout. And making it useful for a team based around it is completely bad balancing- that's the reason why vampiric gaze was nerfed. It was balanced on its own but coupled with 2 other skills and equipped on 6 peoples' skill bars it caused degenerate spikes. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 96.233.11.164 (talk • contribs) at 12:24, November 12, 2008 (UTC).
I know. What I was saying is that my suggestion was only meant to work with shouts which actually affect you - however, the game mechanics probably wouldn't allow this (unless each shout was given a special flag or something, which would be pretty awkward). I was also saying that if you balanced it on its own it would become OP in a team build around it (as you said) so you would have to balance it for that eventuality as well, which would ruin it for normal use.
Maybe the damage could be limited to, say, once per second, or something, so that it can't be used for instant spikes? 86.26.88.229 20:55, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
