TimeToGetIntense's Discussion
4/20/08 Hi, I am requesting you please leave Dark Pack at 70 damage from this last skill update as it seems most fair considering what one has to giveup to use it namely health. So, I would hope you would rethink reverting this back to 48 damage as of May 1st as that will just kill what is a fun skill to use right now. Thanks.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's just fucking dumb. A touch range skill on a 60AL that reduces your life at the same rate it does theirs, but it costs you energy, cast time, and has the possibility of actually damaging you more than it does them. --24.9.234.253 12:52, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- You're thinking of Touch of Agony/Wallow's Bite. Dark Pact is a full range spell. Also, where have you been? Dark Pact and those all cost 1 energy now. Furthermore, currently Dark Pact deals 45 damage at 14 Blood Magic for a 10% sac, so 50-60 damage to yourself. Unless you have 450 health (lol) you're dealing more damage to yourself than to your target. What I am asking for is for it to do about the same amount to yourself as your target and do slightly more damage than it does right now. Also asking for some synergy with some other skills. So long story short, learn the skill names, read the updates, do the math, stop being bad. --TimeToGetIntense 13:38, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- orite. Still costs you energy. And what made you think that last bitch was directed at you? --24.9.234.253 21:34, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- I agree this really needs changing right now it's like flare without a projectile except you're hitting both you and your opponent.(Marsc 15:51, 2 March 2008 (UTC))
- 24.9.234.253, it sure seemed like you were bashing my suggestion without reading the skill description or knowing the energy cost. 1 Energy might as well be free because you regen 1 energy in less than a second. If you're at 5 energy and you cast a 5e spell, bringing yourself down to 0, you'll be at 1 energy before the aftercast of the spell ends. There's never a time you should not have the energy for Dark Pact. Combine this with Masochism and you can make a pretty versitile bar with both utility and DPS without ever really worrying about energy. The thing is, saccing 50-60 life to do 45 damage is kinda bad. I'd rather sac a little less and get the same damage. --TimeToGetIntense 21:51, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it's low damage, yes, it's kinda dumb. It also involves a health sacrifice, which means it causes you to actually gain energy with masochism, makes it useful in dark aura bombs when you aren't using all touch skills. It's cheap and it's highly spammable. The skill isn't awesome, it isn't dismally terrible, it's adequately balanced. That said, I think Blood of the Aggressor is an infinitely superior choice. Lower sacrifice, potential to steal health back... but, it costs five times as much.
- Outside cheap gimmicky Dark aura builds used in AB (or other lame pvp), this skill sucks. Those builds already have tons of weaknesses and are getting easier to counter as enchantment removals get buffed. I think it just needs a little less health sac. Even then, it might have to compete with other skills. P A R A S I T I C 00:41, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Dark pact sucks, nerf masochism.
