A cover is a skill that causes an effect that is applied on top of an existing, desired effect in order to prevent the original from being removed. Covers can be applied to conditions, enchantments, or hexes since the game always removes the most recently applied effect. A cheap cover is a fast-activating, long-lasting, low-cost skill used and reused as a cover.
Examples[edit]
- Ether Phantom easily covers Illusion of Pain, to prevent the target from being healed prematurely due to hex removal.
- Vigorous Spirit can cover various enchantments, notably maintained enchantments such as Protective Bond while providing additional healing.
- Apply Poison can cover Daze from Broad Head Arrow or Cripple from Crippling Shot.
- Parasitic Bond can cover various hexes, but most notably Soul Barbs or Spiteful Spirit, very effectively. An early healing can also serve as a visual clue that the cover hex has been removed.
