Feedback:User/Axiomix/Clientside nicknames

I'd like to suggest the ability for individual players to have the ability to assign nicknames for players they encounter in game, for their own use. This would allow players to substitute a custom name string for the name string of other characters, with the nickname only used by the client that assigns it. I would also like the game client to be able to do the substitution in reverse, so that, for instance, typing "/t @nickname" would seamlessly substitute the truename associated with that nickname when passing the tell request to the chat server. Or, for instance, typing "/s Hey @nickname, give me a hand here." would go to the server as "/s Hey truename, give me a hand here".

With names in GW2 being longer than in most other games, player assigned nicknames would allow people to shorten the name needed to communicate with a particular character. One could also attack a meaningful nickname to a character that would help them to remember who the person is. It would also be useful for role-players, who could just assign a nickname over any truename that they find is immersion breaking.

Appending the @ to the nickname would allow the client to differentiate a nickname from a truename that may be the same and also make it easier for the client to correctly parse nickname use.
