I'm very glad that the effort is made to add a filter to chat. I don't like having pages of people too dumb to use a proper vocabulary.
However, there's an unseemly number of foreign-language curse words that are blocked, like "bite" and "sega". I don't speak these languages, and my language filter is set to "english", so these completely innocuous words shouldn't be blocked because they're homonyms to foreign-language curses.
It would make a great deal more sense if these would only be blocked for me if I found them offensive, that is, if my language filter was set to the language that they're offensive in.
Such as, discussing builds often brings up the term "bite", like "wallow's bite". It's the actual english translation of the skill's name, so it can't very well be marked offensive in chat only(the skill's name and text are still uncensored). Now, if I was playing in french that'd be different, as the skill's name would be "mosure de bauge", and "bite" would actually be offensive to me.
Likewise, my guildies and I sometimes discuss other videogames we like, including ones that involve Sonic the Hedge Hog, and the company that made him, "sega". Again, while I appreciate that this is offensive to speakers of italian, it's somewhat confusing(and possibly even libelous) to censor the name of that company.
As virtually everything else, from called commands to skill and city descriptions are altered by changing your language settings, it only makes sense that the curse word filter should be likewise altered.
Otherwise, it's just a really peculiar inconvenience, and counter-productive teaching tool(I had to look up all of these words in various dictionaries online to figure out why on earth they'd be censored!!!)
