Hi GW2 Team,
I just started playing Guild Wars a few weeks ago even though I brought it years ago & I'm annoyed I didn't get into it sooner. I've just brought all the expansions for GW & will support GW2 all the way!
I just wanted to write to let you know my experiences as a beginner player of GW, these changes could apply to GW2 if you haven't already carried them out.
- The thing I find most frustrating is dying. I can't believe how much time is wasted walking back to where one dies to finish something. WOWs system of being able to move twice as fast to get back to your death spot is much better. I don't know how you could around it with the GW respawn system though. Maybe if you are close enough to a respawn but may not have discovered it you could spawn there anyway.
- Picking up Loot is extremely annoying. Having to click & walk over to each one. Perhaps a single click option for loot (1 click on loot & the char would walk over & pick up automatically) or auto loot option?
- When adding Heroes/Henchman you can only guess at what they may be capable of. As I said I'm a basic player & probably won't memorise what a dervish is or the code for that prof. Maybe a description under their names could appear (Optional perhaps).
- Managing heroes is a huge pain as you have to add & remove them to/from your party each time you want to see what gear each one is using compared to what gear is available to buy/has been picked up. The henchman panel needs to show more detail & have the ability to switch between them all. One screen showing each's attributes & equipment would make upgrading/developing them far more fun.
- I don't know if this is intentional or not, but you are never told how to make/craft or obtain things. It took me ages to find out that you need plant fibres to make cloth, but plant fibres don't seem to drop anywhere &/or can't be found growing anywhere (which is strange in itself).
So you can't truly craft anything as its luck or simply having money as to whether you can craft something. I like WOWs system whereby you can gather resources from anywhere (I'm thinking herbalist wise here).
Just some thoughts anyway.
