Talk Like A Pirate Day

TLAP Day is, lets face it, Awesome. A non-denominational non-partisan and non-country based holiday, that has potential for togetherness and celebration in every corner of the world. It may seem like a lame made up holiday, but the fact that it has no ties to any active political group in the world gives it Major possibilities for large scale socializing opportunities, and the hilarity that can ensue has a possibility to me a crowd pleaser for game players of monumental proportions.

Whats the point? No one can look at TLAP day and say "This is for us!", because everyone can take part in it. However, I see the GW staff taking a very laid back stance to it, No decorations or quests, just a single random drop and NPC reskins. When there is potential for so much more, and to be a full scale holiday in guildwars.

"well what could we possibily do to make a full scale holiday out of such a meaningless and silly pseudo-holiday?" I'll tell you!

Quests

A good way to start planning for any holiday, the quests can feature easily constructed dialogue and can feature some well known, but rarely visited, areas and Landmarks. While reading these suggestions, Keep in mind that it can be done to work it such as Grenth Vs Dwayna or Lunatic Court Vs (whoever it is they fight against, I can't remember), simply make it Sunspear Vs Corsair. One quest giver for each side.

• Quest One: Fairly Simple, - Go here, Kill these guys, Come back and get your reward. Simple. A good place for this? The ship in Churrhir Fields or Dohjok Quarry. Either killing the corsair to protect Civlians or fighting other corsair as an initiation into a Corsair Gang.
• Quest two: Running - Find something and bring it back without killing anyone. A good place for this? Lahtenda Bog or the Shipwreck in Mehtani Keys

Etc Etc, You know?

Arena

What kind of Arena for Drunken Shauben? Why, CAPTURE THE BOOTY of course! Similar to Capture the Flag or the Snowball Arena, With premade bars, where the object is to find and grab the Booty and bring it back to your respective base. Teams are, of course, Sunspear and Corsair. Winners get Shares of the booty.

New items for TLAP day

• - Share of the Booty: "Ya fought well M'hearty! Enjoy yer share of the plunder!"
  • Bottle of Grog - A mainstay,
  • Miracle Pill - "After eating, you shouldn't go swimming for at least an hour." Princess bride ftw!
  • Colossal Scimitar - "Welcome to the Rank o' Weapon Master!"
  • Corsair Tonic - For 60 Minutes, you are the Dread Pirate Roh Burts
  • Everlasting Corsair Tonic - Same as above, only EL.
