Hello!

Reason for the suggestion[edit]

I just thought it would be great to have an option to log off / go afk safely in most places in the game. For example: I farm UW on my Ritualist, but then I have to go afk for about 2-5 minutes, come back, and realize that my Rit has been killed by a monster passing by...That is really...Not fun. And since Guild Wars 2 is even more open than Guild Wars 1. From what I understood by reading about it, anything could happen while you're afk outside of town/outpost. Of course logging out could work aswell, But often, at least in Guild wars 1, logging out means losing a quest/instance.

Suggestion[edit]

What I'm suggesting is: Create a camp system. No exp/loot/titles gained while you're in "camp" state. But enemies won't target you and you don't get hit by AOE's etc. Of course it should have a cooldown that wouldn't allow people to use it to cheat the game. Also it shouldn't be available during combat. Maybe it could have a cool animation like building some kind of campfire or maybe even a tent. And perhaps if it's too large, it should be invisible to players outside of your party. to reduce lag etc.

Also, it definetely should NOT be available in PVP. 

I mean...If you're planning to PVP you should make sure you won't be going AFK every few minutes lol.

When playing in teams, Camp should be approved by all or most members to activate.

Update[edit]

Weapons, mines, etc placed by Engineers should most definetely disappear or become idle. Or maybe "Camp" shouldn't be available til' the mines and other things placed by Engineers disappear.

PS: I'm not sure if this is a new idea, or maybe it's even planned for Gild Wars 2 already. I have looked in many places and haven't found anything related. If this post somehow rips off someone's idea, please let me know and I'll remove it immedeately.
