I hate farming. All those who oppose, you are more then welcome to press alt + left arrow key.

I really do hate farming, and I'm pretty sure Anet opposes it too to some extent. And today, I'm going to suggest a completely different version of the well-famous farming lifeline, Shadow Form.

5 energy - no casting time - 45 second recharge time.

Elite Form. All current effects, except shouts, are stripped off upon the casting of this skill. For x amount of seconds, all damage that directly targets you inflicts that damage in the next 3 seconds upon its contact and you gain a 5 damage reduction towards all damage. Your attacks neither hit or miss but deal absolute damage upon its action and cannot strike for more than 50 damage per hit. All spells targeting yourself cast 50% faster. You shadow step 50% faster. When this Form ends, all damage that is under the delay is negated. This skill is disabled for x seconds.

The reason why I put the "current effects are stripped" is so that people don't have pre-prots and an ability to effectively abuse this skill. I suggested the 3 second delay to all incoming damage so that the player has a vast amount of time to either retreat, prepare him self for the damage, or to avoid damaging his allies via skills like Fireball or Clamour of Souls.

Skills like Savannah Heat, Well of Suffering, or Shockwave inflict its damage instantly like it would on any other being. A player with shadow form standing adjacent to the target of Barrage, that player will be hit instantly as well. By "upon its contant" in the second complete sentence of the skill description, I mean that when the spell's Flare's projectile makes contact with the target, then the 3 second countdown begins. The delay starts for skills like Immolate or Deathly Chill when the skill is finished casting.

While Shadow Form is in use, traps trigger 3 seconds after they should've been with a normal foe and hit whoever comes in contact with the trap's activation. Another use for the 3 second delay is to have th "upper-advantage" for dealing damage to the target because if the target doesn't have Shadow Form, then the assassin has a 3 second opportunity of having the "first serve". Having a skill like this will make players want to balance their builds to include more complex combinations. Putting the damage cap on the user limits damage so that s/he can't deal an incredibly large amount of damage in that 3 second window.

When under the effects of skills like Dodge, Bonetti's Defence, and or Guardian, the block/dodge rate is applied and blocks before the 3 second delay. Armor-altering effects like Stand Your Ground! and Cracked Armor provide its effect when the incoming damage is dealt afer the delay.

Thanks for the patience for reading my short novel, I'm aware its very different and possibly difficult to understand its exact mechanics and will probably recieve a lot of negative criticism. A completely new idea needs a lot of refining before it is implemented into the game.
