Hello, since Guild Wars 1 ended with the marriage of Gwen and Thackery, me and alot of friends from other MMORPG's would like to see it moving to "player with player" marriages in Guild Wars 2. It provides alot of RP and could provide a better community and potentially can add more indepth to quest chains, for example Marriage Dynamic events. Example of how it could work:
- Players do a certain quest-chain in order to obtain marriage rings and ceremony items.
- Players meet in a church-like building and set a date where and when and who is going to marry who. (There will be a calender to check who's marrying when)
- Marriages could take place in various areas and npcs would walk up to the place, comment on the place and might trigger dynamic events where the future groom and bride have to help the "priest" survive and protect in order for him to prepare the celebrations. (Monsters in this case could be npc's such as jealous ex's or what you can imagine)
- At the start of the celebration both the groom and bride exchange rings which in itself is another event where npcs clap the area starts shine, or whatever fits the scenario.
- The married couple can now display eachothers name on top or below their char name, have special crafted wedding clothes, and maybe some pve-only skills such as recall partner, infuse partner! we will survive! etc.
This was just a example.. i think alot of people could come up with a better scenario.
ALOT! of people ask me on a daily base if marriage is a viable option in guildwars2, especially my female friends would like to see it.
