Arena Net introduced in Guild Wars the idea of buying higher quality versions of the in-game soundtrack and being able to hear the higher quality files while playing the game, through the DirectSong website. It was also offered additional music for those who bought the Collector's Edition of Factions and Nightfall. I enjoyed those features; the extra music was an incredible addition to the CEs, and hearing the music in higher quality is a great thing.
However, the DirectSong website has almost died. They have become mostly a service that sells classic music online, with a Support section that is almost empty, and customer support that leaves questions without answers for more than one year. Installing the Guild Wars soundtracks in-game is now extremely annoying, with little to no guidance in how to proceed.
Therefore, despite how I liked the original concept, I would strongly suggest to ArenaNet to not employ DirectSong anymore for GW2. The site and its services now feel extremely unprofessional.
