While watching a video of the Developer Q&A session from PAX Prime 2011, one of the audience members asked if it would be possible to automatically highlight suggested complimentary colors for a primary armor dye color (fast forward to 6:37).

The audio wasn't the best, but the sense I got of where the audience member was going with the question was hoping to make it easier for friends and guild members to dye their armor in the same colors (think a team uniform for guild representation or PvP, for example). Even if implemented, this would still require the players to communicate via chat which colors of the 400+ dyes to use and wait while everyone coordinates their color scheme.

My suggestion is this:

In addition to the highlighting complimentary colors suggestion from above, give players the ability to save color schemes in a manner similar to how players can currently save skill builds in GW1. They can then save multiple dyeing builds for rapid armor color changes based on the situation. Furthemore, they will be able to send their dye build to chat where their friends and guild mates can then save that build as their own. The dye builds could then be given unique names such as "My PvP Ele colors", "Guild X's WvW colors", "My Sylvari Camo scheme", etc.

This would allow players to rapidly coordinate armor colors without the pitfall of waiting around for 5+ minutes as everyone hunts and pecks through the dye palette to find the colors that match their friends' and guild mates' armor. This would also help that little bit extra to foster the sense of community which appears to be one of the aims of the developers.

If this suggestion is already being implemented, feel free to ignore or delete.
