Go here to see a list of my other GW2 suggestions and discussion contributions.
As I understand it from reviews I've read and videos I've seen, monsters in GW2 will have strategy notes beneath their name when targeted by a player. These notes give little tips and hints about the monster's capabilities. For example, "Causes bleeding", "Regenerates", "Unstoppable (can't be knocked down, launched, stunned, etc.)".
While I see the usefullness of this, there is a segment of the gaming community (myself included) which prefers not knowing this information in advance. We prefer the challenge of the unknown and discovering a monster's strengths and weaknesses through combat experience.
So my suggestion is to keep the current strategy notes system but please add an option toggle which permits a player to:
- 1) turn the notes on,
- 2) turn the notes off,
- 3) or turn them off when encountering a monster for the first time. For this third option, the notes will then turn on for all future monsters of the same type after the player successfully kills at least one of that monster type.
Thank you for reading.
