The only information I have found regarding available character slots for Guild Wars 2 has been through a beta video and it's said to be 5. I am really hoping that this was only for the beta and that Arenanet will release enough character slots for GW2 to cover the professions (8) rather than races (5). It's great to have a choice of race but game play (for me especially) is really about the profession. As a character collector, supporting Arenanet through microtransactions is fine but it shouldn't have too much emphasis at the time of game release. Please Arenanet make it 8 to start.
