Feedback:User/Jarak/Game UI fade/timeout

As there are a growing number of people using LCD / Plasma televisions as computer monitors I think it would be a good idea to include an option to auto-hide the UI after a certain period of inactivity, and have the camera pan around your character in a circle to avoid burn-in or image persistence. Allowing people to have UI elements that are transparent, or semitransparent that turn opaque on mouseover would also be useful in preventing burn-in, as well as letting people take in the beautiful scenery.

Also other options such as:
  • Fading out the party window when all party members are at full health/energy and out of combat.
  • If out of combat for longer than 5 minutes fade out the UI (mouseover any part to bring the UI back for another 5 mins)

Some people may find that their UI disappearing by itself is annoying or unnecessary so being able to toggle the feature on/off - or toggle hiding for individual UI elements - would be good. Also being able to set the time before the UI hides & how long it says on screen after mouse-over would be a plus.

Suggestions / Criticism encouraged :)

-On a sort-of-related note, it would also be cool to include a concept art screensaver with the limited/collectors edition of the game (if there is going to be one) that's animated in the 2.5d sort of style, as seen in the cutscenes.

The camera panning might bother me though, depends on when it'd happen.--Will Greyhawk 23:47, 22 August 2010

  • In my opinion the camera should only start panning after around 15 minutes of inactivity, but it could be adjustable via a slider control.
