Some players have expressed a desire for a Master of Damage Isle of the Nameless sort of place for GW2, so they would be able to evaluate the efficacy of their builds. The following is an elaboration on that thought.

I propose that there be a sort of "Training Room" Simulator, probably most easily done by the Asura. This is where players would come to test and see how much damage their build does (especially with different weapons), how good their healing is, discover or perfect CPCs (Cross Profession Combo), test various defensive tactics, or maybe even just hanging out with friends.

  1. The training room would be instanced for you and your party.
  2. There is no reward for accomplishing things in the Training Room. (Exp, gold, etc. Unless there is an initial quest that gives you a small amount of exp for getting there, like in GW1)
  3. The facility would be divided into several rooms, each with distinct purpose.
  4. You control just about everything that goes on in the training room, including the alignment of the NPC fodder you summon. (This is accomplished by talking to the trainers, or using a special Command window)
  5. You can change skills/attunements/traits/weapons whenever you want with no cool-down, so that you can maximize testing.

The training room would allow people to:

  • Summon projections of various monsters to fight.
  • Summon Bit Golems to stand around as targets to practice casting spells on. (you control the amount, and maybe like their armor level)
  • Control enchanted crystal torches in the middles of certain rooms to create various environmental effects. This is done by clicking on the beacon and then selecting an initiator spell for it to create and maintain. (e.g. the torch freezes the ground and you stomp on it to test what affect that has, and how effective it is)
  • Summon Golems that allow you to select their skills so you can change the type of threat they pose. (unless you align them with your team)
  • Try out various environmental weapons.
  • Spam damage on a Cataclysm Crystal that tells them their damage output. (similar to the Master of Damage)
  • Control machines that place boons or conditions on allies or enemies.

If you don't like this, you will never have to use it, because it will not disadvantage you in any way. Please comment on the discussion page to leave more ideas and misplaced criticism (jk, not really, but please come up with more ideas).
