Starter Guild

All players start off in a racial community. This is effectively a starter’s guild where new players can ask questions without clogging up the server guild chat. At level 10 all players leave there starter guild and join a collective guild known as ...............(this could be the server name there on) which is effectively a server guild, the guild leader and officers will all be NPC, player will all have the same guild rank. At level 10 and beyond players can if they wish turn on or off their starter racial guild chat, the reason to do this is so the kind hearted players out there with bit more experience might want to help new player, also guild recruiters may want to recruit new members.

Possible racial starter guild names:

The Charr - The Legion.

Sylvari - The Grove.

Norn – The Wild.

Human – Brotherhood.

Asura – Council.

(The transfer from starter guild and server guild could be put into the player’s personal story).

Server Guild

It’s a place for players to talk and form groups outside of their own player guilds, there will be goals to achieve for this guild as well as the player guilds.

There are a number of reasons why I think a server guild is a good thing.

1. To help give the player a sense of community that there all working together and striving for a goal.

2. To help and make it easy to form groups outside you own guild.

3. It will also help to gather players together for server v server battles.

Some mechanic’s of how the server guild could work.

1. The achievements in this guild will go to helping in the Server v Server fights.

2. All players will help towards the achievements through PvE or PvP.

3. Every time the Server v Server battles re start the achievement score drops to zero and starts again.

4. The guild will track your server victories and losses and show in game of how your server is doing against the other servers this could be viewed in the server guild hall.

5. Guild server chat for across the players own server communication.

6. Battle chat that is only available in the server battle zones to help coordinate you strategies.

7. In battle zones you can form squad of up to 10 players you can nominate one player as an officer for that squad, officers will have separate chat from the battle chat again to help with tactics this should be an unlock able achievement.

8. Also nominated officers will have access to a map of the battle zone that they can draw and write on their plans this map will be show able to members of their squad and other squad officers this should be an unlock able achievement.

9. There would be a guild roster listing all players that a in your current area so it may be easy to find players and get help if needed.

10. Call to arms if players need help defending keeps or attacking they can do a call to arms this will appear on all chats and players can click on it to appear Lions Arch ready to join server v server this can only be done once every 10 minutes to avoid spamming.

Server guild achievement points will be earned by the things players do in game wining PvE events completing dungeon raids and taking part in server v server PvP, but not in the structured PvP and hot PvP as I would assume these PvP fights could take place against players on the same server.

Some Possible unlock able achievements:

1. Battle front chat.

2. Squad officer map.

3. Squad officer chat.

4. Vendors selling unique pet and items.

5. Unique Crafting materials.

6. Vendors selling items for siege weapons or siege weapon upgrades.

7. Vendors selling keep upgrades such as stronger doors more siege placement positions.

8. Unlock server friendly NPC patrols that will help protect your lands.

9. Unique armour and weapon sets.

10. Guard upgrades better armour weapons and health for the guards.

11. Server Battle Banner peaceable on top of a keep tower will give all defenders passive buff.

12. Squad Battle Banner giving one player in the squad Main hand skill that are primarily squad benefiting skills they can still use their profession pacific offhand weapon skills.

13. Unlock access to new dungeon (may be if you win the server v server war).

14. Unlock new PvE event chain (may be if you win the server v server war).

Player Guild

Separate from the server guild players can create their own guild, this guild will go under normal guild rules that you see in most MMO’s, invite and kick players as the guild master sees fit make names and ranks for their members ect. Also there will be achievements to unlock for your own guild, achievement points will be earned by the things players do in game wining PvE events completing dungeon raids and taking part in all PvP content. The achievement points should be scalable dependent on the size of the guild, so smaller guilds will not need to collect as many points as a large guild. This way small guild will not feel that they have to invite lots of unwanted players in to their guild just to help them unlock achievements. If you do have a large guild and some of your guild members have been away for three days or more they will not count towards your scaling up, so will reduce your scaling until they log back in. Player guilds also have a guild Chronicle this will track the activity of members and their contribution to the player guild, earning them point score for PvE and PvP there should be individual score for the PvE and PvP and a joint total score this is so the guild master can see who is doing what and may wish to reward them or promote them as he sees fit.

Some Possible unlock able achievements:

1. Guild titles unlock as the guild advances in levels the players can choose the title that they like.

4. Guild weapon vendors so players can sell their PvE droppable weapons.

Guild recruitment boards

Guild recruitment boards are situated in prime locations in all major cities, guild that have unlocked the achievement may if they are looking for new members advertise on this board for a fee, players that are without player run guild or looking to join a new one can look at the board and read about the various guild out there. The advertiser will have a brief description about their guild and some stats of how many guild members there are, what boss they have killed and there PvP rank, there will also be a click to join guild button so if a player is interested they can click on and immediately join the guild. This way guild members can recruit in to the guild rather than having to wait for a guild officer to get on line if there is none available. Guild officers can put players on a ban list to stop players that they don’t want in the guild from constantly rejoining. Guilds can pay for one, two week or one month to advertise on the board. After the subscription ends the advert will be removed from the board. The guild then can start a new subscription term. The order that the guilds will appear on the board should be completely random.

The Chronicle.

This is the player personal journal of achievements of what they have done, how many times they died in PvE, PvP and in server battles and who they have killed and how many times, what dungeons they have completed, what bosses they have killed what was there biggest critical hit score. This could also be something where a player read over their personal story line so they can recap over what they have done.
