Feedback:User/Perfect Disaster/Interface templates

Many users didn't dare play with, or touch their interface too much in Guild Wars. Some didn't even know that such a feature existed, or frankly didn't know how modifying their interface could prove beneficial - advantageous. Those who did, however, often struggled with changing it again, or attempting to make it better. The constant fear of how long and tedious it would be to return it to their preferred layout was a reality. In addition to this, players who owned multiple accounts often would have to spend far too long if they wanted to replicate any given interface layout.

Simplicity and convenience in mind, a solution is quite obvious.

Interface templates. Rather than having a "restore to default" button for the interface, Guild Wars 2 could include several interfaces, varying from;

  • "Classic" (Something similar to gw1)
  • "Default" (The default gw2 interface layout)
  • "PvP - Mists" (An interface layout designed specifically for battling in the mists)
  • "PvP - GvG" (An interface layout designed specifically for gvg.)
  • "PvE - Persistent" (An interface layout specifically for persistent world encounters)
  • "PvE - Instanced" (An interface layout specifically for instanced pve.)
  • "Pve - Boss" (Specifically for boss encounters)
  • Player saved templates (Layouts created, and saved by yourself, or others.)

Templates could be loaded and saved whenever the player finds it appropriate. In addition, if "weapon sets" are implemented in Guild Wars 2, one could assign a specific interface template per weapon, if they wish. Otherwise, "interface templates" could be added, or a set of rules governing when to automatically change the interface. (Ie. When in GvG, change interface to "PvP - GvG").
