Why[edit]

Wastrel's Worry is too fucking powerful.

It encourages hex stacking and spamming, specifically the [any Mesmer punishing hex] + Wastrel's Worry variety. I don't mind brainless combos like that, but if they are brainless, they shouldn't be that powerful. However Diversion/Mistrust/Backfire/Shame/etc with Wastrel's Worry over the top is just too effective. The long recharge times that are supposed to slow down these deadly combos can be easily overcome with Glyph of Renewal, Echo, or a 40% recharge set. In addition, in very fast arenas like Random Arenas or Fort Aspenwood, it is spammed to hell because death and skill recharge times ultimately mean nothing... when you die, the time it takes you to get back to the group, the skills will be fully recharged or have a chunk already done, therefore you don't need to be selective and careful about when to use them. And the fact that it's AoE as well, that's just the final straw.

This skill has also made a mockery out of Fort Aspenwood. Usual Mesmer: Both Wastrels + random rupts, throw in cover hexes like said above... NPCs eat it all up, they just melt.

There are the thoughts behind the different versions above:
1 is a minor numbers tweak. Always start with the most "transparent" modifications.
2 is similar to the current version however reduces the damage if target has a Mesmer hex when damage is dealt. This will weaken predictable Mesmer combos, but the full effect can still be achieved with careful timing on knockdown, crippled targets, and frantic people running. Could not decide if 20% or 25% was best.
3 is a version I saw on the wiki floating around. Forgot who made it... punishes lazy or unfocused Mesmers with the energy hit, instead turning it into a "I know I will shut you down for the next 3 seconds" skill.
4 I know what you're thinking... I took out the nerfbat! But I think if you are shutting down a target, that is enough already. You don't need extra armor ignoring damage on top of it! By making Wastrel's Worry low DPS, it will need to be used with skill or it will waste energy. I see it being used predicatively, when you think targets will respect your hexes and not cast, instead of being tacked onto every hex stack and instantly damning the victim no matter what they do. Why should they be damned instantly -- because you know how to use 2 skills!? This version is not as punishing. I added in nearby to help some.
5 In case ArenaNet wants to preserve the historic spam design of the skill yet tone down the damage, this low energy "Add it to EVERYTHING!" variant of 4 was created. Now you can use it to your heart's content and never worry about energy. It can be tacked onto everything but not instant win.

Oh, and for the minion/pet changes - why should they be affected by WORRYING!? Minions are undead and pets never are targeted by skills in the first place. I really despise how you can just wastrels and tab on minion mobs and they eat it up!
