Fleeting Stability Fleeting Stability[edit]

Current:[edit]

5 Energy10 Recharge time Flash Enchantment Spell. (2...5...6 seconds.) You cannot be knocked down and move 25% faster. Ends if knockdown prevented.

Proposed:[edit]

5 Energy6 Recharge time Flash Enchantment. (0...2...2 second[s].) The next time you would be knocked down, nearby foes take 15...67...80 Earth damage instead.

Active KD-prevention at its finest. It doesn't need to be an IMS, because dervishes will probably never use this skill.

Aura of Thorns (PvP) Aura of Thorns (PvP)[edit]

Current:[edit]

10 Energy12 Recharge time Flash Enchantment Spell. (30 seconds.) Initial effect: inflicts Crippled condition (3...7...8 seconds) on nearby foes. End effect: inflicts Bleeding condition (5...13...15 seconds) on nearby foes.

Proposed:[edit]

1 Upkeep5 Energy8 Recharge time Flash Enchantment Spell. Foes knocked down near you take 15 Earth damage and are Crippled (1...3...3 seconds). End effect: deals 15...35...40 Earth damage and inflicts Crippled condition (5...11...12 seconds) on nearby foes; this enchantment is disabled (12...6...4 seconds).

This exemplifies several concepts that were necessary but lacking:
First, we need a useful effect throughout the duration of the enchantment: this, we get in the form of a powerful frontline-support effect not so far in functionality from Brambles. This makes removing the enchantment (as is necessary for the stronger spike skills) have a real drawback.
Secondly, the effect can be ended on demand. A simple double-click and, boom, you get what you paid for. Dervishes are supposed to be masters of enchantments, right? It only makes sense, then, that a Dervish player should be able to manipulate their enchantments at least as well as a Monk or Assassin can. Furthermore, making the enchantments maintained puts a real strain on the profession's energy – which, up until now, had been copious.
Finally, there is a worthwhile reward for removing it. It's not supposed to be maintained all the time, not removed as frequently as possible; this asks the user to make a decision for every moment that they have it up. And that is the essence of promoting skilled play.
