I was thinking of the role of guild capes in GW2. In GW1 there were very little options regarding the capes shape. It covered the whole back and hid your armor. To solve this problem without having to hide your guild emblem completely there are several solutions.
1. Narrow banners down from one shoulder, as in Aion (Asmodian side). This should not be the only option but rahter one of a selection of forms for guild capes.
2. Customizable armor and shields or even weapons. There could also be specific armor sets, shields or weapons that bear the guilds colors and emblems. I reaize that it is hard to make all armor sets customizable in such a way but there could be a selection of such armors and weapons avilable at an armor or weapon smith within the guildhall. This could also be a feature that has to be unlocked first. This would be especially great for WvW guild teams.
3. There could be surecoats with the guild emblem. One would equip them in the costume slot and they would fit over the armor.
